Senior Scratch Classic
Congratulations to Dan Nicklin
for winning the GCBA Senior Scratch Classic held on November 4th at
Bartelso Bowl.
The tournament was divided into two divisions – those between the
ages of 50 & 59 and those 60 years of age and older.
In the 50 – 59 age division, the top four qualifiers with their four
game totals were: 1) Dan Winkeler 862; 2) Dan Nicklin
858; 3) Jim Loesche 847; and 4) Ron Hellmann 847.
In the bracket roll offs, the number four seed Ron Hellmann defeated
top qualifier Dan Winkeler 205-160.
The number two seed Dan Nicklin defeated
the number three seed Jim Loesche 211-184.
Dan Nicklin then defeated Ron Hellmann
215-198 to win the division.
In the 60 years of age and older division, the top four qualifiers with their four game totals were: 1) Les Beer 830; 2) Bob Fischer 782; 3) Dave Potts 770; 4) Ray Merian 769. In the bracket roll offs, top qualifier Les Beer defeated number four seed Ray Merian 177-160. The number three seed Dave Potts defeated number two seed Bob Fischer 196-175. Dave Potts then defeated Les Beer 195-168 to win the division.
In the championship match, Dan Nicklin
defeated Dave Potts 236-202 to
become the overall Greater Carlyle Bowling Association Senior Scratch
Champion.
