Welcome to the official website of the Greater Carlyle USBC Bowling Association (GCBA). The GCBA was founded for the purpose of uniting in a central organization and all qualified members of bowling leagues bowling in certified establishments located in the following cities in the State of Illinois: Bartelso, Breese, Trenton, New Baden, Mascoutah, Highland, Grantfork, Greenville, Vandalia, and Salem.

The new GREATER CARLYLE BOWLING ASSOCIATION
  As of August 1, 2018 the Greater Carlyle Bowling Association  will provide services for its men, women, and youth bowlers.   In addition to an awards program for all bowlers, the GCBA will offer numerous tournaments for all of its members.  We will offer a Scratch Tournament and an Open Handicap Tournament for all our members as well as a Senior Scratch Tournament for all of our members over the age of 50.  In addition, our female bowlers will also have their own tournament.  Our Youth Bowlers will have  their own tournament as well. Our new Association Number is 86694

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY FOR TOURNAMENTS:
In the case of inclement weather, bowling may be rescheduled based on a case by case scenario.  If the bowling center does not open due to inclement weather, bowling will be rescheduled.  You will be contacted if the bowling center does not open.  If the bowling center does open during inclement weather, but you feel it is not safe for you to travel, rescheduling will be permitted upon request by calling Tim Rutz.  My number is 618-654-9840 (home) 618-401-8035 (cell). 

GCBA OPEN & WOMEN'S TOURNAMENTS
  The Driscoll Brick Team leads the GCBA OPEN Handicap Team Tournament with a NEW TOURNAMENT SCRATCH & HANDICAP RECORD score of 3755 (team members are: Keith Langenhorst, Nick Korte, Scott Clark, Clayton Wilke, and Kirt Ervin).  As of April 11th, this is the highest five man team series in the Nation reported to USBC.

Congratulations ERIC HUFFMAN for bowling a 298 game, a 300 game, and an 866 series at Grantfork Bowl (the HIGHEST SERIES ever bowled in a GCBA Tournament).  Eric rolled 34 out of 36 strikes.

Jordyn Sussenbach leads the GCBA WOMEN'S Singles Tournament with a NEW WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT HANDICAP RECORD 765 series

Molly Marshall & Lori Whitmore lead the GCBA WOMEN'S Doubles Tournament with a NEW GCBA WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT HANDICAP RECORD score of 1576 with a NEW GCBA WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT SCRATCH RECORD score of 1536.
Lori Whitmore bowled a 300 game and 827 series, both GCBA WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT RECORDS

GCBA YOUTH TOURNAMENT
The GCBA Youth Tournament was held at Vandalia Bowl.

 ROSS MUNRO won the GCBA Senior Scratch Classic on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 4th Street Lanes in Greenville.

GCBA AWARDS
The Greater Carlyle Bowling Assocation will continue to provide awards for the 2019-20 season.  Bowlers can earn an acrylic statue for bowling 100 pins over their average, for bowling 11 strikes in a row in one game, for bowling  a 299 game, a 300 game, or an 800 series.

GCBA SCHOLARHIP
The GCBA is awarding two $500 scholarships - one for a male bowler and one for a female bowler - in their senior year of high school.  Applicants must either bowl in a sanctioned Youth League in a GCBA Bowling Center or a sanctioned Youth Bowler on a high school bowling team within the GCBA jurisdiction.  The entry deadline is April 1, 2021.  See the application for more information.

2020 GCBA HALL OF FAME/AWARDS BANQUET
The late Mike Gebke from Bartelso, Jim Hettenhausen from Okawville, Alan Profancik II from Salem, and Ray Voss from Highland were inducted into the Greater Carlyle Bowling Association Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Michael's Restaurant in Highland.

GCBA HIGH AVERAGE FOR 2019-20 SEASON
Congratulations to NICK KORTE for carrying a 242 AVERAGE with 78 games at Poplar Junction Lanes in Highland.

GCBA HIGH SERIES FOR 2019-20 SEASON

Congratulations to COLLIN KORTE for bowling an 863 series at Poplar Junction Lanes in Highland , the highest series ever bowled at Poplar Junction Lanes.


JOHN BOGACKI SETS NEW HI TOP BOWL RECORD
 Congratulations JOHN BOGACKI for setting a new Hi Top Bowl House Record 858  series on April 14, 2021.  John bowled 258 his first game then finished with Back to Back 300 games.
