Welcome to the official website of the Greater Carlyle USBC Bowling
Association (GCBA). The GCBA was founded for the purpose of uniting in
a central organization and all qualified members of bowling leagues
bowling in certified establishments located in the following cities in
the State of Illinois: Bartelso, Breese, Trenton, New Baden,
Mascoutah, Highland, Grantfork, Greenville, Vandalia, and Salem.

THE
ENTRY FORMS FOR THE GCBA OPEN AND WOMEN'S HANDICAP TOURNAMENTS ARE IN ALL GCBA BOWLING CENTERS. WE PUT THE
TOURNAMENTS ON HOLD WITH ALL OF THE UNCERTAINTES OF COVID.
HOWEVER, WITH NEWS OF THE VACCINE AND ENTHUSIASM OF BOWLERS, WE ARE
READY TO PROCEED WITH THE TOURNAMENTS AS SCHEDULED. THE TEAM
EVENT WILL START FEB 20TH AT GRANTFORK BOWL. SINGLES AND DOUBLES
WILL START FEB 27TH AT 4TH STREET LANES IN GREENVILLE. THE ENTRY
DEADLINE WILL BE FEBRUARY 10, 2021.

The new GREATER CARLYLE BOWLING ASSOCIATION As
of August 1, 2018 the Greater Carlyle Bowling Association will
provide services for its men, women, and youth bowlers. In
addition to an awards program for all bowlers, the GCBA will offer
numerous tournaments for all of its members. We will offer a
Scratch Tournament and an Open Handicap Tournament for all our members
as well as a Senior Scratch Tournament for all of our members over the
age of 50. In addition, our female bowlers will also have their
own tournament. Our Youth Bowlers will have their own
tournament as well. Our new Association Number is 86694
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY FOR TOURNAMENTS:
In the case of inclement weather, bowling may be
rescheduled based on a case by case scenario. If the bowling
center does not open due to inclement weather, bowling will be
rescheduled. You will be contacted if the bowling center does not
open. If the bowling center does open during inclement weather,
but you feel it is not safe for you to travel, rescheduling will be
permitted upon request by calling Tim Rutz. My number is

GCBA OPEN & WOMEN'S TOURNAMENTS
Since only half of the 2020 GCBA OPEN & WOMEN'S Tournaments were
completed due to the restrictions enforced during COVID-19, the GCBA
Board of Directors voted to return the 2021 GCBA OPEN & WOMEN'S
Tournaments to last year's sites.The
team event will be at Grantfork Bowl and will start February 20,
2021. Singles/Doubles will be at 4th Street Lanes in Greenville
and will start February 27, 2021. Entry forms are in
the GCBA bowling centers. The entry
deadline is February 10, 2021.

GCBA AWARDS
The
Greater Carlyle Bowling Assocation will continue to provide awards for the 2019-20
season. Bowlers can earn an acrylic statue for bowling 100
pins over their average, for bowling 11 strikes in a row in one game,
for bowling a 299 game, a 300 game, or an 800 series.
GCBA SCHOLARHIP
Congratulations to KAYLA RUTZ from Highland High School and AUSTIN DAVIS from Highland High School for winning the 2020 GCBA Scholarships. Each recipient will receive a $500 scholarship.
2020 GCBA HALL OF FAME/AWARDS BANQUET
The late Mike Gebke from Bartelso, Jim Hettenhausen from Okawville,
Alan Profancik II from Salem, and Ray Voss from Highland were inducted into the Greater Carlyle Bowling Association
Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at
Michael's Restaurant in Highland.

Congratulations
to COLLIN KORTE for bowling an 863 series at Poplar Junction Lanes in Highland , the highest series ever bowled at Poplar Junction Lanes.
35 out of 36 STRIKES
Congratulations COLLIN KORTE
for bowling 35 out of 36 strikes in route to an 863 series on November
19th at Poplar Junction Lanes, a new house record. Collin started
the night with 27 strikes in a row before leaving a split in the 4th
frame of the last game. He then struck out to complete the 35
strike feat.
